Hello 👋, I'm Marcin
...briefly.
I have over a decade of experience transforming complex technical requirements into scalable, consistent interfaces.
My career has evolved from brand-focused design to the architecture of complex technical systems used by B2C and B2B companies. While Figma remains my primary environment for design ideation and design systems, I believe static frames have limits. To bridge the gap between design and production, I started to leverage agentic code and generative tools to build functional prototypes that mirror the final product. This technical approach allows me to speak the same language as developers, ensuring more seamless hand-offs and rigid UI consistency across the application.
Currently I am a Senior Product Designer at the Open Home Foundation, where I focus on maturing the Home Assistant platform. My work involves auditing general UX flows and designing new features that lower the barrier to entry for users, ensuring that privacy-focused smart home technology is as intuitive as it is powerful.
In recent years, I've worked in the renewable energy field, focusing on creating web SaaS applications and other projects related to green energy that controlled residential and industrial objects
Previously, I worked at a travel agency, where I designed a WYSIWYG website builder tool and CMS.
At the beginning of my career, I functioned as a freelancer on numerous projects, some of which are showcased below.
Throughout my career I've aquired experience and knowledge in various industries, and I'm open for new ones.

Tool stack
Over the years tools have evolved and so did I. Main tool for designing and prototyping is Figma, although I do find myself using generative UI products like Figma Make, and even 🤖agentic code editors to make a first draft or to ideate ⚡faster.
Data for UX heavily relies on the project and company setup, which has varied throughout my career. For metrics and research, I use Hotjar, but when I have the chance, I schedule interviews with target users and use Google Docs & forms.

Process and methods
There is no standard process that I can define for every project. Since shipping a product is a team effort I try to fit the project needs as much as possible given the project resources, and the people involved.
It is my responsibility to determine if I have enough data to begin iterating the design based on the methods of design thinking principles.

After years of freelance collaboration, I’ve dedicated the last decade to bringing my expertise into the heart of corporate B2B and B2C teams.
About me
I grew up on computer games and building LEGO Technics, which developed in me a passion to create, appreciate good design and to constantly ask the question:
“How does it work?“
Today I use my passion to work with people and create meaningful experiences and tools.
